Remove two
press-on carpet fasteners found on the forward most upper right corner
of the passenger foot rest area. These fasteners can be removed by unscrewing
them like a standard bolt using your fingers. Step 2: Removing the foot rest plate Once the carpet has been pulled back the footrest plate is exposed. There are three 10mm screws and one 10mm nut holding down the footrest plate, remove all four 10mm fasteners and take out the plate. Step 3: Unplug the factory harness Unclip the
four connectors of the factory harness from the right side of the ECU
starting from top to bottom. Step 4: Plug in the Unichip harness, Unichip and boost driver module Plug the
four connectors of the Unichip harness into the factory ECU starting from
top to bottom (all plugs are of a different shape, so there is no possibility
of incorrect placement). Next, plug in the factory harness into the Unichip
harness and plug the accessory cable into the Unichip harness. (The accessory
cable is the one with two switches and a LED at the end of it). Plug the Unichip computer into the 18 Pin connector and plug the small driver module into the 8 pin connector. All items are to be placed on top of the ECU before the foot rest is reinstalled.
Lay the
Unichip and harness connector on top of the ECU and replace the footrest
plate using M6x1.00 30mm long bolts with standoff. Fasten the loop connector
at the end of the thick brown wire from the boost driver module to the
bottom right foot rest bolt and ensure a good ground. Step 7: Accessory cable functionality The two switches found on the accessory cable are for switching between the A and B mapping in the Unichip and for resetting the factory ECU. The switch on the yellow wires is for A/B map and will cause the LED to turn on when the B race gas map is ON. The switch on the red wires with yellow tracer is for turning off the backup power to the factory ECU, this function is useful for tuning and turning off check engine lights. Resetting the ECU Turn off the car and remove the key, next turn off the ECU reset switch ( switch should be in the 0 position), wait ten seconds Turn on ECU reset switch and start the car. The ECU reset switch should be in the ON (1) position for vehicle operation. Dastek Installation Instructions - pdf file |
